Mazda CX-5 Touring

The history of the compact crossover Mazda CX5 began at the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century. The Japanese carmaker presented its model to the public at the Geneva auto show. The exhibit was named Minagi. Based on this, the look of the CX5 was created.

At the origins of the creation of the car lies the desire to bring to life the philosophy of sophistication and comfort from driving an urban SUV. Thus, the ideology of Mazda appears in a similar body – KODO (mental movement). The next main step for creating a model is the question of fuel economy. The company is heading for sales in Europe, for this it was necessary to fit into the standard environmental indicators. Japanese engineers create a special SkyActiv engine.

New generation 2018
An updated version of the CX5 was presented in New York. The crossover is not a restyled model, but a completely new round in the development of Japanese automotive production. The similarity of the new Mazda model with its predecessors is minimal. The carmaker is taking a new course – a light silhouette, a mixture of rigidity and comfort.

Exterior
The exterior of the CX5 is almost completely redesigned. The body gets a very deep (as if it is glowing from the inside) and juicy cherry color. The entire vehicle structure becomes more robust – rigidity is increased by 15 percent.
The front of the crossover is unrecognizable. By moving the A-pillars back a little, the hood becomes more elongated. The changed angle of the windshield gives the car a greater indicator of aerodynamics. The massive radiator grille with chrome elements gives the Mazda solidity. In general, the crossover received plus 10 millimeters in length, but lost in clearance and its indicator is 21 centimeters. The head optics has a slanting shape with integrated LED strips. The light adaptation system automatically adjusts to the lighting conditions of the roadway.
The sides of the car have a flat surface without pronounced relief. The rear looks simple enough compared to the hood. The luggage compartment is 502 liters, has an electric lift, that is, you can open it by pressing just one button. Inside, the trunk is trimmed with a special fabric, there are no plastic elements.

Interior
The main idea of ​​the designers is to increase the noise insulation characteristics. Since Mazda cars are famous for their noise, this deficiency is completely eradicated in the CX5 model. This happened thanks to the installation of thicker glazing, sealing rubber bands on all doors and around the entire perimeter of the body, special mats were installed in the skin. At speeds up to 150 km / h, no sounds are heard at all.
The CX5’s interior looks expensive and its interior is completely ergonomic. The torpedo is made of high quality plastic and has a blown shape. On it, in a special petal, an on-board computer with a diagonal of 8 inches is installed. The performance of the car is projected onto the windshield.
The material for finishing the interior space of the car is light and very pleasant to the touch leather. The color makes the interior visually more spacious. The front seats have an adjustable position, comfortable support for the back. Sitting behind the wheel of such a model, you feel great.
There is enough space for rear passengers. The rear seats can be tilted (2 positions). There are USB ports on the back of the driver’s armrest.
The car has a Bose audio system. The trunk contains a built-in subwoofer. The sound is very clear with a full sense of presence.

Under the hood
The car presented in DRC has a 2.5-liter gasoline engine. The car is driven by an automatic transmission. It will take 9.2 seconds to accelerate to 100 kilometers.
The undercarriage has a McPherson front suspension and a rear multi-link mechanism.
Innovative control systems include the use of the G Vectoring Control. This feature makes it easy and safe to drive.
